Are you 18-25 years old and have previously been a camper or a mentor at Rock Camp?

For our upcoming September Rock Camp, we are introducing a new role of Camper Engagement Manager, who will look after the campers’ experience. The Camper Engagement Manager will help to create a friendly, inclusive and welcoming space for all campers. Daily tasks include facilitating morning group activities and games, supervising campers during morning tea, lunch and sign out, and assisting with workshops. We’re looking for someone who is friendly and confident to talk to new people, facilitate conversations, and be comfortable talking to a crowd. This role is specifically for a young person (18-25), and former campers, interns and mentors are encouraged to apply. As this is a new position there will be plenty of opportunity to help shape the role.

This position is open to women (transgender and cisgender), transgender men, and gender diverse and intersex people. We recognise that gender is self-identified, and that there is a variety of language people may use to best express their experience of gender.

Time commitment:

  • 23 September 1-4pm: Orientation
  • 25-29 September 8.30am-4.30pm: Rock Camp
  • 30 September 1-4:30pm: Showcase

Payment: This role will receive a stipend of $1,000.

All Rock Camp staff are required to hold or be able to obtain a current Working With Vulnerable People Check (ACT).

If you’re interested in this role, please send us a short paragraph introducing yourself and why you’re interested in this role. Expressions of interest close Monday 10 July 2023. If you have any questions or want to chat more about the role, please email Phoebe at girlsrockcanberra@gmail.com
