Girls Rock! Canberra is a community arts organisation working to increase the participation of young people of marginalised gender identities in music. Marginalised gender identities include women, gender-diverse folk and trans-men. We create safe and inclusive spaces for young people to learn, create and collaborate through promoting inclusivity, diversity, respect and accessibility. We focus on programming for Canberra and neighbouring regional and rural areas.

Our annual Rock Camp program aims to provide a safe environment for young people (10-17 years old) of marginalised gender identities to express their creativity, take pride in their accomplishments and learn not to apologise for making some noise.

Our upcoming Rock Camp is happening in the September school holidays – Monday 20 to Friday 24 September 2021 with a showcase on Saturday afternoon – at Ainslie Arts Centre, Braddon. Camper applications open Monday 19 July. Mentor applications are now open, and close Sunday 11 July.

We ran our first program in January 2016, and have run annually since at Ainslie Arts Centre, Braddon. Sign up to our newsletter and follow us on social media to hear about future rock camp opportunities. Girls Rock! Canberra was the first Girls Rock Camp to be established in Australia, and is part of the national Girls Rock! Australia network.
